Was Fort Hood Barack Obama's fault? that will depend on what his response is
|
November 10, 2009 Comment on the news
Sunday, November 8, we published a piece entitled The enemy within. On Monday we were treated to this. And as ABC (bless their souls) has reported, there is a definite connection between the murderer of Fort Hood and Anwar al Awlaki.

|
| We would not advocate rounding up all Muslims and putting them in concentration camps. Not at all. But we would advocate identifying the individuals, organizations and institutions that harbor the Awlaki's and the Hasan's and deal with them effectively. Effectively enough to prevent another 9-11 or Fort Hood.

| It turns out that Nidal Hasan had attended the same Muslim mosque that Awlaki was an iman at in Falls Church, Virginia while he was stationed in Washington. But that is really not the story here, in our opinion.
The real story is that this incident exposes a peep into what is going on in these Muslim mosques and in Muslim madrasahs both in this country and particularly around the world. Awlaki wrote: "Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties toward his Creator and his fellow Muslims and yet serve as a US soldier." And further: "In fact the only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal."
So the real question becomes: "How many more Nidal's are there now in the U. S. Military, working for state, local and the Federal government, or even working in such places as power companies, public safety related organizations and even attending our universities?"
We know, there will be the bleeding heart liberals who want to point out that not all Muslims are like Hasan and Awlaki. And that is true. But it misses the point. The point is that Islamic extremists present the most serious threat to American security today and this fact must be dealt with.

| If it happens again, the blame will be that of Barack Obama's. He has failed once. There will be no excuse for failing again. This was a systemic failure and Obama is responsible for the system. He must not allow it to happen again. Take Anwar al Awlaki at this word, Mr. President. |

| President Obama, clothed in his liberal mantra, urged us to not jump to conclusions. Bull! We don't have to jump to conclusions. They are right there on the screen in front of us. The question is what are our officials going to do to weed out and eliminate the Awlaki's and the Hasan's from among us.
And the failure that was Fort Hood is just as bad as 9-11. Make no mistake about that. Nidal Hasan should have been identified and stopped before he did what he did last week. That is a systemic failure that begs an answer from our top officials, including the "Commander-in-Chief".
What Fort Hood illustrates is that this political correctness BS is a bunch of malarky. Barack Obama has got to assume that there are other Nidal Hasan's in positions that make them a real and present danger to Americans and it is President Obama's duty, above all other duties, to fix that problem.
Obama, in his delayed lament about the tragedy at Fort Hood, said that it is a terrible thing that our soldiers (and we presume he meant sailors, marines, airmen and guardsmen also) would go to a foreign country to fight extremists and then come home to presumably a "safe haven" only to be killed or wounded on American soil. And he is precisely correct about that. It should not have happened and it should certainly never be allowed to happen again without our president doing everything in his considerable power to see that it does not happen again. And his top Army commander, Gen. George Casey, is apparently afflicted with the same disease of which we speak. Gen. Casey needs to come to grip with reality and get ahead of the "next" Islamofacist that's lurking out there in uniform.
If it happens again, the blame will be that of Barack Obama's. He has failed once. There will be no excuse for failing again. This was a systemic failure and Obama is responsible for the system. He must not allow it to happen again. Take Anwar al Awlaki at this word, Mr. President.
